raw materials taken from dismantled redwood and oak wine vats
milled fifty to sixty years ago, Vintage Redwood Company crafts
fine wooden furniture designed to be enjoyed for generations.
Each piece is given a hand rubbed natural finish for protection
and lasting beauty. Our selection of unique furniture is both
attractive and functional.
The
vats, some 25 feet tall, used during fermentation and storage
in California’s wine industry were originally constructed
from the highest grade lumber available, specifically old
growth clear all-heart redwood and quarter sawn oak. Through
the years, the effects of wine fermentation have added character
to the natural beauty of these woods. As wineries replace
their redwood vats with high-tech stainless steel tanks, Vintage
Redwood Company reclaims this priceless natural resource without
contributing to the decline of our ancient forests.
